Harbor Freight cart mod

Yes, it is yet another Harbor Freight “Hydraulic Table Cart” modification to pinball cart.

The more subtle mod are the holes in the deck.
The holes are for pegs in a pair of 2X4s. No reason some one couldn’t use wooden pegs if needed.
The pegs on the 2X4s drop right into place, thus the 2X4s won’t be able to shift around when under load. The idea here for the 2X4s is in case of a pin with a questionable bottom on it, the 2X4s can be used to lift the pin via the stronger vertical sides of the cabinet.
The inner holes on the deck allow for the 2X4s to be stored on top of the deck. I wouldn’t lift pin with the 2X4s like this.
The bottom lip of the deck has several notches. These are for the hooks on tie down straps, hopefully the hook won’t slide around causing a strap to loosen.
I used 3/4″ black pipe fittings and some adjustable flag pole mounts to modify the handle. 4″ long pipe pieces were just a hair too large to fit into the openings for the handle, so I ran them over a belt sander for a bit to get them a bit smaller in diameter. I was then able to use a hammer and “press” them into the cart. Then the flanges were threaded on.
The mounting holes of the flag pole bases are larger than the flange, so I had to drill some extra holes in them so I could secure it to the base with bolts. Several inches had to be cut off the original handle. The flag pole uses wing nuts to help lock them into place, I put a washer under them, make it a lot easier to tighten or loosen the wing nuts.
I used the 4″ pipe pieces so that the pivot points of the handle would be just over the 2X4s, this way the handle can be folded over for storage.
